Build the Next Generation of Advanced Coating Technology
We are seeking an experienced NPI Engineer to lead new product and process introduction activities within a high-tech semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with R&D, Sales, Operations, and Engineering teams to develop, qualify, and scale new processes, equipment, cleaning technologies, and coatings.
The NPI Engineer will also serve as a technical resource for customer-facing projects, process improvements, new production line startups, and complex manufacturing challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) and process qualification activities across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Develop and improve semiconductor manufacturing processes, including parts cleaning, wet chemistry, coatings, and related technologies.
- Scale new processes from development into commercially viable production.
- Define process, equipment, and supporting system requirements for new production lines and capabilities.
- Lead installation, qualification, commissioning, and improvement of new manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Troubleshoot complex process and equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Work with Sales and technical teams to understand customer requirements and develop technical roadmaps and solutions.
- Support customer qualifications, continuous improvement projects, and new process development.
- Drive process control, SPC, and process matching initiatives across manufacturing locations.
- Manage multiple technical projects while maintaining cost, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering and operations teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Advanced degree preferred but not required.
- 6+ years of engineering experience within high-tech manufacturing, preferably semiconductor, semiconductor capital equipment, or a related industry.
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Semiconductor manufacturing or processing
- Precision/critical parts cleaning
- Wet chemistry processes
- Semiconductor tool components and consumables
- Coating technologies
- Process and equipment qualification
- SPC and process control systems
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to interpret, analyze, and present technical data to customers and senior leadership.
- Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills.
- CAD experience is beneficial.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- Limited travel may be required.
Experience: 4–8 years preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered

Coatings Experience: Required
Travel: Up to two-week blocks, approximately 4–8 times per year; more frequent during training/onboarding

Skills Required
