 The APP will work closely with physicians and various allied health staff on a multi-disciplinary team by providing comprehensive assessments, ordering, and interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a diagnostic impression, developing, and implementing a treatment plan, monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, and prescription of pharmacological agents and non-pharmacological therapies. They will also provide primary care services including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating patients.

Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:
    • If Nurse Practitioner, must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program.  Minimum of 2 years of experience working independently with patients in family practice, acute care or similar specialty.   Experience with program growth preferred.

If Physician Assistant, bachelor's degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program required.  Minimum of 2 years of experience working independently with patients in family practice, acute care or similar specialty.

  • License/Certificates:
    • If NP, current DEA certificate and Minnesota Nurse Practitioner License. 
    • If PA, current DEA certificate and national certification from the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.  State PA license required.

      • Adjusts to stressful situations with confidence and good judgment.
      • Must Possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
      • Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communications skills.
      • Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles of administration in the changing healthcare environment.
      • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately.
      • Ability to handle/operate medical instruments required for physical exams, surgical procedures and computer hardware/software.

Skills Required
