As a NDT Engineer, you will develop, implement, and evaluate NDT methods and techniques with focus on turbomachinery parts.
In this role, you will be responsible for:

Performing NDT inspections based on Ultrasonic and Eddy Current technologies at site or at shop
-
Performing Rotor Life Management Inspections for Heavy Duty Gas and Steam Turbines
-
Performing Borescopic inspections requiring dimensional checks (TIL-1067)
-
Performing Coating Thickness Measurements with Eddy current methods
-
Writing and revising NDT inspection and nondestructive testing procedures
-
Supervising contractors technicians activities
-
Developing NDT solutions and inspection tools based on ultrasonic and eddy current technologies
-
Developing and maintaining the Service Engineering NDT Equipment
-
Providing Technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team in the development of new sensing technology.

Performing hands-on laboratory testing and reporting.

Assisting Manufacturing and Repair Shop teams in defects identifications, test failures, and NDT equipment related issues

Working with cross-domain experts like mechanical, material, testing and software engineers.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:

Have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
-
Be fluent in English and Italian (both oral and written)
-
Ba availableto travel worldwide 50% of the time all over the world also on short notice
-
Have documented experience working as an NDT technician on turbomachinery especially with Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Eddy Current (ET) methods (minimum 5 years)

Show proven experience with NDT methods and main manufacturers equipment

Hold a level II certification required for UT and ET
Desired skills

Level II certification for Visual and optical testing (VT), Magnetic particle testing (MT), Penetrant testing (PT)

Level III certification for UT and ET
-
Knowledge of simulations and modeling of ultrasonic waves (e.g. CIVA)
-
Hands-on expertise in materials science, physics, and signal processing
