We are currently seeking a Backend Engineer with strong Node.js experience to join our growing team developing global video streamining platforms that handle billions of requests and millions of users. In this role, you will play an integral part in designing, developing, and scaling backend systems that power mission-critical applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions using modern cloud-native tools.

This is a Full-Time position working on a remote basis. 

The annual base salary range is $80,000 - $110,000. Candidates will be paid within this range based on their work experience and skills. Candidates are also eligible for our full list of benefits linked here.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using Node.js
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code
• Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver backend features
• Develop and maintain cloud-native applications deployed on AWS
• Design and implement scalable microservices and data models
• Use Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment and operations
• Collaborate on system architecture and documentation
• Ensure security best practices for backend services and data

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or relevant work experience.
• 3+ years of backend development experience with Node.js
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to understand full system architectures
• Working knowledge of Python and Java
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience designing RESTful APIs or microservices
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (preferably Concourse CI)
• Familiarity with relational, document and graph database concepts
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and containerized deployments
• Familiar with message queueing systems like RabbitMQ

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in zero-downtime deployments, feature flagging, and experimentation
• Background in microservice design patterns and distributed systems
• Exposure to stream processing architectures or event-driven systems
