Night Editor

The Daily Beast is looking for its next Night Editor to fulfill a vital role in our 24-hour operation.

You’re a news-hungry executive who knows how to inspire a small team to report and write brilliant stories. You love the Daily Beast’s intelligent tabloid style and our irreverent voice. You’re able to choose stories which will make Beast readers click, help reporters make their copy shine, work with the visuals team to illustrate our stories brilliantly and give those stories the punchiest headlines.

Qualifications

• You’ve got at least three years experience in an editing role and in managing reporters at a successful national or regional news website.
• You’ve got a personal track record of journalistic success and a love of breaking news, particularly in politics.
• You’ll be based in our Manhattan office where you’ll work alongside the brilliant day team, take charge of the site with your own team of reporters then hand over to our Australian team.

Pay Range Salary

The pay range for this position is $95,000 to $110,000  annually. 

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, performance and other factors. The range listed is just one component of The Daily Beast’s total compensation package. The Daily Beast provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
