Nokia NI Fixed networks Customer Engineer provides professional services for design, integration, migration, upgrade and optimization of complex FN, IP/Optical integration and transport network operation. While the initial projects will be Fixed Networking related, as part of the Network Infrastructure Customer Engineering team, the NI Customer Engineers will have the opportunity to cross-train and work on IP Networking and Optical Networking technology projects. As a Customer Engineer, you will be expected to and will have the opportunity to continuously upskill on emerging AI automation tools, building and utilizing AI agents to innovate workflows and accelerate productivity.
Network Design & Architecture: Develop and optimize network architectures and service designs, ensuring the best solutions to support customer requirements.
Integration, Migration & Upgrades: Deliver network integration, migration, and upgrade services for network elements and network management solutions.
Testing & Validation: Conduct comprehensive testing, including network readiness and customer acceptance tests, and troubleshooting issues in various stages of deployment. Determine acceptance test strategies, develop, and execute overall test plans.
Optimization & Assessment: Audit and assess networks against customer service requirements and best practices, providing recommendations to optimize network operations, performance, scalability, manageability, and security.
Customer Engagement & Support: Serve as a primary technical contact for customers, providing expert consultation, diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, and instructing customers on system operation and maintenance.
Documentation & Reporting: Author customized deployment design documents, migration, operational documentation, and technical statements of work. Provide regular project progress reports and communicate insights to stakeholders.
Training & Knowledge Transfer: Develop and deliver appropriate training materials and workshops to enhance customer understanding and experience with Nokia products and solutions.
Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with customers, internal technical teams, solutions and marketing groups, and Product Line Management to enhance professional services delivery, influence product placement, and drive feature improvements for reliability, availability, and serviceability.
Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer's technical and management teams.
Project Management Support: Provide support to global services tendering teams on evaluating professional services requests and collaborate with Project Managers and Sales Engineers to deliver services.
Flexibility: maintenance window work and occasional travel to customer premises are expected to support critical network events and project delivery.
Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication, with a minimum of five years of experience a telecom communications equipment vendor or service provider in designing, integrating, monitoring, and troubleshooting optics networks.
Nokia NRSII certification, Nokia SRA, Cisco CCIE, and/or Juniper JNCIE or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience configuring, provisioning or troubleshooting Access Technologies (XGS-PON, SDAN) using CLI or GUI on the devices.
Experience with SDAN / NETCONF / YANG / REST API with Strong knowledge in Access Technologies (GPON, XGS, 25G, Layer2) and Home Wifi
Exposure to Key cloak, Index search, RabbitMQ, Kafka
Exposure to IP/MPLS fundamentals. Scripting experience (Python, C, Bash, Shell, XML, Perl, Javascript, HTTP/s, SOAP, RESTful protocols).
Knowledge in Layer3, MPLS, and ERPS , IPTV video and SIP voice service delivery
Nokia products hands-on experience is preferred
Multi-vendor OSS integration experience and understanding of network management systems and performance monitoring tools.
Using AI tools like copilot, Cursor etc.,
Strong skills with Linux/Unix, Solaris, Red Hat, CentOS., hypervisor technology (KVM, ESXi) and good In-depth knowledge on Kubernetes and Docker / container
Working knowledge on various public/private cloud environments like OpenShift, AWS, GCP.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Skills Required
