Position Title: Business Systems Analyst

Location: This position can be based in any of the following locations: Irvine, CA, Roseville, CA, Scottsdale, AZ, Greenwood Village, CO, Beaverton, OR, Austin, TX, Katy TX, Issaquah, WA.

Position Summary

The Business Systems Analyst will join a small dynamic team within the New Home Co.’s IT Department. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operation of Newstar and related systems.

Job Duties:

Application Support and System Administration:

  • Provide application support to all users of Newstar and related systems (Newstar Enterprise, Newstar Sales, Design Studio Manager, Newstar Web, OnLocation Scheduling, Homeowner Central, InformXL and BuildPro).
  • Perform system administration tasks - setup and maintenance of entities, master data for Accounting, Purchasing, Sales and Warranty
  • Act as a vital link between system users and technical staff, using a broad knowledge of user requirements and application design principles.

User Request Documentation and Escalation:

  • Document user requests comprehensively, ensuring a clear understanding of their requirements.
  • Escalate complex issues to system vendors, collaborating closely with them to reach effective resolutions.

User Training and Documentation:

  • Train end-users, both onsite and virtually, to enhance their proficiency in using applications and new enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain user guides, training videos and other training resources based on established best practices.
  • Manage intranet site with up-to-date training materials and resources for system users

Testing and Quality Assurance: 

  • Formulate testing plans and create test scenarios to rigorously evaluate system enhancements, bug fixes, process changes and system conversions.
  • Coordinate and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to guarantee the reliability and functionality of system changes.

Continuous Learning

  • Stay abreast of latest system enhancements, bug fixes and upgrades by meticulously reviewing system release notes and knowledge base sites.
  • Actively participate in user groups sessions, webinars, system demonstrations and training sessions.

Position Qualifications

Education/Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Experience

  • 3 - 5 years of software application support experience within IT environment
  • 1 – 3 years of Business Analyst experience
  • Proven experience in providing working with business customers, collecting requirements, and documenting requirements.
  • Homebuilding industry experience required.
  • Experience with project management methodology a plus

Skills

  • The most qualified candidate will have a strong knowledge of supporting Newstar Enterprise, Newstar Sales, Design Studio Manager, InformXL and BuildPro.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and the entire Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of relational database and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective team player

Base Salary: The expected base salary range for this position is between $90,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base Salary is paid bi-weekly, every other Friday. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on divisional and individual performance.
