Men in Blazers is the No. 1 Soccer Media Network in the U.S. With a wide reach and a diverse, vocal fan base, we engage with teams, players, celebrity fans, and brands we love, to share our passion for soccer across the nation. Using humor, emotion, intelligence, and to-the-minute pop cultural aptitude, we provide fans with unique content that breaks down the biggest stories in the game in ways that are authentic, meaningful, and compulsively entertaining.

We are looking for a Newsletter Writer who is responsible for writing engaging content for our newsletter dedicated to women’s soccer/football, The Women’s Game (TWG). This will include helping with the production of the newsletter — from hopping in on writing duties to building/scheduling sends in our publishing platform.

You’ll at times be expected to: write match previews and recaps, curate the most important moments in the sport from an increasingly congested media landscape, connect with our highly-engaged audience, and both inform and entertain in equal measure.

This role involves keeping an extremely close eye on what’s happening across all the major American and European leagues, along with the cultural conversation around women’s football happening on social media. The position requires collaboration with an editor and the newsletter director, along with coordinating with the larger TWG team, and participation in brainstorming sessions, all while adhering to TWG’s brand standards.

  • Fact-check all newsletter copy thoroughly, including statistics, to ensure complete accuracy.
  • Participate in editorial brainstorms and team meetings, pitching new ideas and ways to cover the biggest developments across the most popular leagues and tournaments.
  • Meet or exceed deadlines while pushing the TWG newsletter calendar, cadence, and format forward.
  • Partner with TWG’s social media and marketing teams on cross-promotion and larger content packages.

What you need:

  • 3+ years of professional writing experience.
  • Encyclopedic interest in and knowledge of women’s football.
  • An understanding of newsletters: what works, what doesn’t, how, and why.
  • Love of pop culture and the ways in which it intersects with sports.

  • Ability to write copy and create content adhering to TWG’s brand standards and tone of voice.
