News Integrator & Analyst

Deeter Analytics is a privately held investment research and trading firm managing ~$800M of its own capital across public markets. After years of discretionary success, we think we have some unique ways of seeing the market, and we pair sharp human judgment with modern AI to act on them.
Markets move on news, and the firms that win are the ones that read it faster and more clearly than everyone else. We're hiring a News Integrator & Analyst to be the firm's eyes and ears on real-time market news: watching the flow across wires, filings, releases, and social media, and exercising the judgment to know (quickly) what actually matters and what is just noise. You'll turn a chaotic news firehose into a timely, decision-ready signal for our traders and research, and help shape how the firm reads and reacts to news as that function grows.

• Real-time monitoring & triage. Watch the market news flow end to end (wires, filings, economic and earnings releases, central-bank and policy news, and social/X) and surface what's material as it happens.

• The materiality call. Decide, fast, what's genuinely market-moving versus what's noise and read the second-order implications, not just the headline.

• Integration & delivery. Get the right read to the right people at the right moment: concise, contextual, prioritized by impact.

• The playbook. Build the firm's process for how news is monitored, triaged, and escalated, and, as the function grows, the standard the team works to.

• AI leverage. Use modern AI tools to widen coverage, summarize at scale, and cut noise, so nothing important slips through and little unimportant gets amplified.
  

We hire for demonstrated judgment and how you think, not for pedigree. You've spent enough time in and around markets to have real instincts – for example in investment research, a markets/news desk, financial journalism, or even in your own time as a passion – and whatever the path, you can show you have exceptionally strong judgment. We look for evidence that you are:

• A sharp judge of what matters; handed a flood of headlines, you can quickly say what's market-moving and what isn't, and why.

• Fluent in markets, with a feeling for how news might move prices, positioning, and sentiment across asset classes and time horizons.

• Calm and decisive under a firehose: high volume and real-time pressure sharpen you rather than rattle you.

• A crisp communicator who distills complexity into exactly what someone needs to know, now.

• Low ego, curious, and collaborative, and quick to update your read when the facts change.
  

• Real-time and decisive. You operate at the speed of the news cycle and make confident calls on what to flag and what to let pass.

• Signal over noise. You're relentless about filtering, surfacing the few things that matter rather than forwarding everything.

• AI-native. Fluent with modern AI tools, and able to use them to monitor broadly, summarize, and triage at scale. You do not need to be a developer, but you should get real leverage from these tools and improve how the firm uses them.

• Clear and collaborative. You communicate concisely, work closely with the desks you serve, and make the people around you better-informed.
  

• News & markets fluency. Deep familiarity with the real-time information landscape (wires, filings, macro and earnings calendars, central banks, FinTwit/social) and a feel for how each source moves markets.

• Materiality judgment. The core of the job: separating market-moving from noise, fast, on the merits, with reasons you can articulate.

• Synthesis & communication. Turning a flood of information into crisp, contextual, actionable briefs under time pressure.

• Tooling & AI workflows. Building and using monitoring, alerting, summarization, and filtering workflows, leaning on AI to widen coverage and cut noise.

• Process-building. Turning ad-hoc watching into a repeatable system the firm (and a growing team) can run.
