Job Description
Summary
The New Product Integration (NPI) Manager is responsible for operations based, strategy, planning and execution of new product launches in conjunction with the program management office. Responsible for defining, developing and executing all program level plans focused on operations to successfully meet all phases of the program. This includes product cost, quality, manufacturing, tooling, test, supply chain and logistics. The NPI Manager's primary goal is to drive and ensure flawless transition of product-specific deliverables from design into manufacturing meeting or exceeding program objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensures site factories/Functional Operations organizations are adequately executing efforts to meet program objectives
- Successful operations strategy of larger scope programs, varying in complexity, planning, support and execution of critical new products integrating into production environment
- Oversee operational tasking, deliverables, budget and schedule associated with manufacturing readiness and manufacturing maturation
- Ensure a smooth transition from development into operations
- Responsible for both internal and external NPI performance objectives, including, cost, schedule, technical and performance
- Responsible for product operations strategies, business cases, and NPI execution related to product portfolio management
- Must support the rollout, standardizing and continuous improvement of NPI processes, plans, metrics, built into the product development and launch framework
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
- Experienced in EACs/Risk/Opportunity Management/Gate Review processes
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Ability to adeptly use influence without authority in a matrix organizational structure
- Understanding of partnering between Program Management and Operations/Manufacturing
- Exceptional ability to build relationships; data-driven and willing to take action; enthusiastic and motivated; and detailed while managing several work-streams
- Ability to travel within the Continental U.S. up to 25%
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
- Bachelor's Degree or relevant combination of 8 – 12 years' experience in New Product Introduction, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing Supply Chain, Program Management or other related function, combined with leadership or Management responsibilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Project, EVMS a plus. Macro experience a plus
- Experience in developing program plans, budgets, and schedules
- Knowledge of ERP, MRP, MES, PLM Systems; Knowledge of Proposal/BOE
- Experience in engineering and production environments
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
- EVMS and PMP Certified
- Lean/ 6 Sigma Trained
- Experience in Mil-Aero/ DOD programs
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Demonstrates reliability, flexibility, initiative and is a self-starter; Has strong time management and organizational skills
- Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
- Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
- Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
- Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company
- Focuses on teamwork and puts the success of the team above one's own interests
- Presently holds or capable of obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance. Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in an office environment (Constant)
- Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)
Special Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.
- Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S.
The salary range for this role is:
$118,107 - $167,475
