The Network/Systems Administrator is responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting advanced server, networking, and cloud services issues.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Escalations
o Critical system down issues where collaboration with internal teams and external vendors is necessary to come to a resolution.
o Complex issues that have made their way through the Desktop Support team without resolution.
o Documents details of resolution and communicated those details to Helion team and clients.
- Collaborates with Tier III support team to resolve escalated issues.
- Directly responsible for managing and resolving all Executive and Owner level escalations.
- Coordinates with outside vendors to resolve high level escalations from the Service Desk.
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Microsoft Sever 2003-2019 Operating Systems
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and decommission
- Manage and maintain settings
- Configure, test, and deploy Group Policy
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Active Directory domains in a multi-server domain/forest
- Install, migrate, and programmatically deploy printers
- File Management
o Configure, test, and deploy Folder Redirection
o Configure, test, and deploy DFS for shared file storage
o Configure, test, and deploy OneDrive personal file redirection
- DHCP management and failover setup and configuration
- DNS management
- 3rd party application management including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting
Cisco Networking
- Firewall access rule configuration and port forwarding
- Bandwidth monitoring
- ISP or WAN connection issues
Email
- Microsoft Exchange 2007-2016 installation, configuration, and support
- Office 365 migration, configuration and support
- Barracuda spam filter configuration, maintenance, and support
- External DNS record configuration: SPF, DKIM, DMARC
Virtual Infrastructure
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Hyper V hosts and virtual servers in a VMware environment
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot VM hosts and virtual servers in a Hyper V environment
- Azure Active Directory Connect/Active Directory File Server experience in an enterprise environment
- Writes Windows Power Shell scripts for automation or maintenance
- Provides technical expertise on O365 services:
- Teams, Azure, Multi-factor Authentication and Single Sign On
Scripting/Programming
- Create, test, modify, and deploy scripts using PowerShell, Bat files, and Kaseya’s proprietary scripting engine
o Application deployment
o Application removal
o Icon deployment
o File or resource auditing
Certifications and Experience:
- 1+ years of experience as a Windows Systems Engineer or Windows Systems Administrator
- AZ-104 is a plus
- AZ-500 is a plus
Skills Required
- 1+ years of experience as a Windows Systems Engineer or Windows Systems Administrator
- Experience with Microsoft Server (2003-2019) administration
- Active Directory and Group Policy installation, configuration and management
- DFS, Folder Redirection, and OneDrive file redirection configuration and support
- DHCP management and failover setup; DNS management
- Microsoft Exchange 2007-2016 and Office 365 migration/configuration/support
- Barracuda spam filter configuration and support
- Hyper-V and VMware virtualization host and VM installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Azure AD Connect and enterprise Azure/Office365 services experience (Teams, MFA, SSO)
- PowerShell scripting for automation and maintenance
- Experience with Cisco networking, firewall rule configuration, port forwarding, and WAN/ISP troubleshooting
- Create and deploy scripts using Batch files and Kaseya's scripting engine
- Experience handling escalations, collaborating with Tier III teams and external vendors
