Job Summary
This position will be primarily responsible for the installation and maintenance of a variety of network components and their associated equipment, software and applications within the labs. He or she will be required to install, configure, and support multiple network devices in a variety of configurations.This position is ineligible for visa sponsorship. Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Complete updates to LAB Visio network architecture diagrams, including OTN ASN.
- Finish technical documentation outlining all needed duties and processes when adding a new network device to the DT infrastructure. Radius, AAA, DNS, Visio, etc…
- Review and provide input to new technical requirements
- Ability to participate in defining overall approach and structure of lab designs
- Install, configure, and maintain test environment equipment.
- Configure and rework Radius, AAA, DSN, VTY Access list, etc. on all network equipment.
- Proactive identification and resolution of complex technical and operational issues
- Perform bug verification, development and testing on reported issues as needed
- Ability to engage with vendors to resolve equipment issues and identify future needs
- Provide a Bill of Material for equipment required to meet future requirements
- Provide reports on a weekly basis of all system design and maintenance activity
- Coordinate activities between departments to ensure uninterrupted business operation
- Travel between labs may be required. Labs are currently located in PA and NJ. The employee would be based in Downingtown, PA where 90% of employee’s work will take place
Technical Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of Outlook, MS Office programs etc.
- Knowledge of performance monitoring and configuration management tools
- Knowledge of IP address management tools such as IP-Control or IP-Plan
- Proficient (must have)in Cisco Switch/Router IOSs, including the physical equipment
- Fluent in Juniper and Arista IOS
- Install, configure, and maintain Cisco, Juniper, and Foundry IP network switches and routers
- Strong knowledge of IP networks and IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6) (sub-netting, broadcast, multi-cast)
- Experience working with Ethernet packet analyzers/sniffers such as Wireshark
- Knowledge of packet loss, crosstalk, BER, ISO model
- Experience with bandwidth analysis, trace routing, TCP/IP Protocol stack etc.
- Understanding of WANs, LANs, VLANs, VPNs and firewalls
- Experience with BGP/OSPF/SPT routing protocols and route policies/Class maps/ACL’s and prefix list
- Knowledge of multicast IGMPv2/IGMPv3/PIM and DSCP / traffic shaping and policing
- Knowledge of optical equipment and characteristics such as CWDM, DWDM, single mode, multi-mode, SFPs GBICs etc.
- Proficient working with Load Balancers
- Administering IP and/or server networks (DNS, TFTP, TOD, DHCP, NAT)
- Configure multicast video and data transport devices
- Working experience with Cable modems, eMTAs, and STBs
- Must be very detailed oriented and have a passion for accuracy and completeness
- Must have good communication skills, working in teams and as an individual contributor
- Ability to clearly and concisely describe problems in both written and oral forms and communicate both orally and in writing in a clear, professional and pleasant manner.
- Must be willing to accept additional assignments, and take the lead, and assist other team members as necessary
- Ability to work autonomously without close supervision or assistance
- Self-motivated with desire for continuous learning
Requirements
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent job related experience/knowledge as determined by management
- Experience with cable TV or telecommunications industry is desired
- 5+ years experience in IT Infrastructure/Network group (not application help desk)
- 5+ years experience in CO, Headend and /or NOC environments
- Administering Cisco CNR or BACC a plus
- CCNP network certification a plus
- JUNOS network certification a plus

This job can be performed in New Jersey with a Pay Range of $89,076.03 - $133,614.04Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
