Position: Network Engineer

Job description
Advanced working knowledge of and 12+ years of professional experience with network administration of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
Thorough, in-depth knowledge of and experience with TCP/IP and all layers of the OSI Model
Considerable working knowledge of HP Proliant and HP Blade server environment
Considerable working knowledge of Cisco UCS infrastructure
Considerable working knowledge of EMC VNX Storage Area Network environment, including zoning configuration
Meticulous attention to detail, skilled in authoring technical documentation, ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and to work both independently and in a team environment
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Legally able to be hired as a state employee
Responsibilities:-
Routine network administration
Working with Office of Information Security in remediation of security vulnerabilities
Installation of operating system, application, and hardware patches and upgrades to servers and network devices as required
Network security configuration and administration
Configuration and maintenance of Cisco ASA, ASR, Cube, and 6509 core switch
Special projects installing server and network equipment and software
Creating and maintaining network documentation as required, to include Visio diagrams
Desired but not required:
Working knowledge of VMWare, Citrix, VPN
Skills Required
- 12+ years professional experience administering Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
- Thorough knowledge and experience with TCP/IP and all layers of the OSI Model
- Working knowledge of HP ProLiant and HP Blade server environments
- Working knowledge of Cisco UCS infrastructure
- Working knowledge of EMC VNX Storage Area Network environment, including zoning configuration
- Configuration and maintenance experience with Cisco ASA, Cisco ASR, Cisco CUBE, and Cisco 6509 core switch
- Network security configuration and administration and remediation of security vulnerabilities
- Skilled in authoring technical documentation and creating Visio network diagrams; meticulous attention to detail
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Legally able to be hired as a state employee
- Working knowledge of VMWare, Citrix, VPN
