Zone is a regulated blockchain network that enables payments and acceptance of digital currencies. Our Layer-1 Blockchain network decentralizes processing of Fiat payments and enables the transition to digital currencies while connecting previously excluded financial institutions into an all-inclusive payment ecosystem.

Job Profile:  

We are looking for an innovative Network Engineer to join our team! The Ideal candidate will manage/support Zone's regulated blockchain network Infrastructure that connects financial service providers/Monetary store of value and enables payments and acceptance of fiat and digital currencies. 

As Network Engineer, your job responsibilities include the following:  

• Responsible for all aspects of the network lifecycle including architecture, design, implementation, operation and optimization. 
  
• Provide network support for virtualized and containerized workloads, both on-premises and in the cloud, to assist other teams. 
  
• Install, configure, and support network equipment and services (such as routers, VPN’s, Firewalls and Qos) to increase network efficiency and security posture. 
  
• Configure routers and firewalls to increase network efficiency and security. 
  
• Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting. 
  
• Monitor system resource utilization, trends, and capacity planning. 
  
• Arrange scheduled upgrades, and report of network status to key stakeholders. 
  
• Maintain current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to the organization systems. 
  
• Identify, schedule, perform and record network hardware/software maintenances, implementing automation to improve efficiency where possible.

• You are skilled in Layer 2 technologies, such as VLANs, STP, and trunking. 
  
• You excel in routing concepts, with proficiency in protocols like OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. 
  
• You are skilled in designing robust and scalable LAN and WLAN setups, with a focus on access control, optimization, and seamless integration with WAN technologies like MPLS, SD-WAN, Metro Ethernet, and VPN solutions. 
  
• You have expertise in cloud networking, including integrating with platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. 
  
• You bring advanced security competencies, including firewall configuration (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto), VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL), and knowledge of zero-trust models and NAC solutions. 
  
• You are strong in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark, and tcpdump, as well as basic scripting (Python, Bash) to optimize diagnostic processes. 
  
• You are skilled in network automation using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, with proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) and integrating APIs to streamline network operations. 
  
• You possess a high-level ability to prioritize tasks with a goal-driven and execution mindset.   
  
• You demonstrate effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• First Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in Network Administration and Management. 
  
• Certification in relevant Network fields (CCNA is a must, CCNP, ITILv4) preferred. 
  
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible). 
  

Physical Requirements:   

We currently run a flexible work structure; some days are remote while others require you collaborate with colleagues at the office location. For each situation, you may have:  

● Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  

This role reports to the Network Administration Lead.
