Insight Xcite is on the hunt for a sharp, experienced Network Engineer to support a key mission-focused client in Northern Virginia. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill networking gig — you’ll be hands-on with complex, high-impact systems that keep critical operations running smoothly. The environment is secure, the expectations are high, and the work is meaningful.
Duties and Responsibilities- Design and implement secure, scalable network architectures.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitor performance, resolve latency and connectivity issues, and optimize uptime.
- Collaborate with software, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to ensure end-to-end stability.
- Maintain compliance with security protocols and government standards.
- Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) — non-negotiable. Candidates without this clearance will not be considered.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Strong understanding of routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Experience with Cisco hardware and network tools preferred.
- Ability to work independently in secure, high-stakes environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
