ActioNet has an opportunity for a Network Engineer, located in San Diego, CA.. The candidate must have an Active Secret clearance. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and implementing enterprise networks for large DoD projects.

Target Salary $152K

As the Network Engineer, you will play a key role in our network modernization project. You will be responsible for the network architecture, detailed design, configuration, and testing. Your expertise in routing, switching, security, and related technologies will be critical in ensuring the successful deployment of the network infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design the network architecture, including LAN, WAN, and wireless components.
• Develop detailed network designs, including logical and physical diagrams, IP addressing schemes, and configuration templates.
• Configure and deploy network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Implement network security controls, such as access control lists, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
• Conduct network testing and validation, including performance, reliability, and security testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues during deployment and post-implementation.
• Optimize network performance and capacity through monitoring, analysis, and tuning.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including design docs, as-built diagrams, and configuration guides.
• Stay current with network technologies, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with project team, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience designing and implementing enterprise networks.
• Deep knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, STP), and network security principles.
• Experience with network design and deployment for DoD environments.
• Familiarity with network management and monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Prime).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Active Secret clearance is required.
