Job Summary:
The Network WAN team supports over 400 sites globally for Caterpillar. This role will focus on the core WAN routing for Caterpillar and help ensure that the same standards are followed globally. In this position you will have the opportunity to work both independently and with a cooperative team on complex WAN projects that may span multiple infrastructure components or applications. You will develop your professional network and leadership skills, assisting in the creation and support of IT Solutions that enable Caterpillar success.
What You Will Do:

  • WAN design, configuration, and implementation support for remote sites and data centers.
  • Support for WAN incidents, requests, and changes, including off-shift support.
  • WAN site and datacenter circuit troubleshooting.
  • WAN circuit and bandwidth test and turn up.
  • QOS, underlay, overlay and egress management.
  • Configure Silver Peak edge devices and conduct software upgrades.
  • Cisco IOS software upgrade and IOS configuration support
  • Guide the design solutions by assessing and aligning the current systems to best practices and comply to federal policies and procedures.
  • Administer updates, upgrades, and other maintenance tasks in both hardware and software areas, to make the network more efficient, cost-effective, and secure.


What You Have: Format:

  • Candidate must have a Computer Science or Business degree and/or strong network experience
  • Working knowledge of Cisco network hardware and software
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time as well as being a collaborative team member
  • CCCI or CCNP Cisco Certification nice to have but not required
  • Experience with Cisco and/or Silver Peak SDWAN solutions.
  • Knowledgeable with automation technologies and scripting
  • Understanding of IT Service Management and ITIL based support processes
  • Availability to work off-shift when needed

Additional Info :

  • The primary location for this position: East Peoria - IL, Nashville - TN, or Dallas - TX.
  • MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO THIS LOCATION AND Work out of the office 3 times a week.
  • This position may require 10% travel.
