Job Summary
We are seeking a Network Engineer I to support the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure supporting 24/7 operations.
Working under the direction of the Senior Manager of Enterprise Network Services, the Network Engineer will work with switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, access points, and other network appliances. This position will independently handle basic network projects and serve as an initial escalation point for complex issues that cannot be resolved by lower-tier support teams.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware and software.
Design, build, and implement LAN, WLAN, and WAN infrastructure.
Configure and support switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points.
Monitor network and system performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain reliability.
Serve as an escalation point for unresolved network-related incidents.
Troubleshoot and resolve operating system and application-related issues affecting network operations.
Support backup and recovery processes to maintain business continuity.
Assist with evaluating and recommending hardware and software solutions.
Identify and help remediate network vulnerabilities and security issues.
Work collaboratively with technical teams and provide professional customer support.
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of IT experience providing advanced support for:
- Switches
- Routers
- Firewalls
- Wireless controllers
- Access points
- Network appliances
- Network monitoring tools
- CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA certification.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Valid Florida Driver License required.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco CCIE certification.
Technical Skills
Candidates should have knowledge/experience with:
- Network switching environments
- Routing and wireless technologies
- LAN/WAN/WLAN
- VoIP
- IP addressing, schemas, subnetting, and network design
- Network security and vulnerability remediation
- Data center configurations
- Storage technologies including:
- iSCSI
- Fibre Channel
- DAS
- NAS
Work Environment & Schedule
This is a 24/7 operational environment, so candidates must be comfortable working rotating shifts, including days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Emergency call-in availability is also required.
The position may involve physical activities including standing, walking, lifting up to 60 lbs, bending, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and occasional use of power tools.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Network Engineer / Network Administrator with strong troubleshooting skills and practical experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure. You should be comfortable working independently, responding to escalated technical issues, and operating in a mission-critical 24/7 environment.
Skills Required
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field
- At least 2 years of IT experience providing advanced support for switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, access points, network appliances, and network monitoring tools
- CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA certification
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Cisco CCIE certification
- Knowledge or experience with network switching, routing, wireless technologies, LAN/WAN/WLAN, VoIP, IP addressing, subnetting, network design, network security, vulnerability remediation, data center configurations, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, DAS, and NAS
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Emergency call-in availability
- Ability to perform physical activities including lifting up to 60 pounds, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and occasional power-tool use
