Position Overview: Senior Network Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and sustaining secure enterprise network and unified communications services supporting AFOSI mission environments. The engineer provides senior-level support for LAN, WAN, VLAN, routing, switching, firewall, monitoring, NIPR, SIPR, AFSCI, and video teleconference infrastructure. This senior position leads complex troubleshooting and approved change activities, supports AFCYBER and USCYBERCOM taskings, and validates network patches, software updates, and design changes in test environments before operational implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, operate, and maintain secure LAN, WAN, VLAN, routing, switching, wireless, and unified communications solutions.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and associated network-management platforms.
- Configure and sustain Palo Alto or comparable next-generation firewall services and security policies.
- Monitor network availability, capacity, performance, events, and security conditions and lead resolution of complex incidents.
- Troubleshoot NIPR, SIPR, and AFSCI connectivity and coordinate with Government and enterprise service providers through restoration.
- Support identity-based access, software-defined networking, Zero Trust, and micro- and macro-segmentation initiatives.
- Operate and maintain VTC and unified communications infrastructure and coordinate resolution of service-impacting issues.
- Execute applicable USCYBERCOM and AFCYBER orders, taskings, directives, and network changes within required timelines.
- Maintain and use TIC/DEV or comparable test environments to validate patches, software, configurations, and network changes before production deployment.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, configurations, baselines, implementation plans, test results, procedures, and change records.
- Provide technical leadership, peer review, mentoring, root-cause analysis, and recommendations for network modernization and resilience.
Qualifications:
- Years of Experience: 5+ years network engineering/operations.
- Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field (preferred); equivalent experience considered.
- Clearance Requirements: Must have active Top Secret (TS) clearance and the ability to obtain TS with SCI access.
- Certification Requirements: CCNA or Network+ (minimum); CCNP preferred.
- Any other work-related qualifications needed for the role: Hands-on Cisco enterprise networking experience; familiarity with structured change/configuration control and secure network operations.

Skills Required
- 5+ years of network engineering or network operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field
- Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Active Top Secret security clearance
- Ability to obtain Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information access
- CCNA or Network+ certification
- CCNP certification
- Hands-on Cisco enterprise networking experience
- Familiarity with structured change and configuration control
- Experience with secure network operations
