Job Description: Network Engineer
Position requires an experienced and results driven Network engineer who is either a US Citizen or Green Card holder for a direct hire based on end client needs. Source 1 Solution cannot provide Visa sponsorship. This Engineer will need a broad range of skills in Network engineering and Infrastructure solutions. Must have proven ability in maintain complex infrastructure solutions and design, and work as lead role. Experience working in a large datacenter environment or as a consultant is required to succeed in this position. A well-rounded level of experience in Cisco networking, SD-WAN, Firewalls, and remote connectivity solutions is a must. Windows and Linux experience is a plus.
The core role of this position is to provide Cisco Infrastructure troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving problems, as well as implementing and designing network solutions to a Large Managed Services Client. Other customer projects that involve migrations, business transformation initiatives, and Cloud implementations may be needed. Engineer will be required to be part of the on-call team schedule to provide after hours escalation support. Other tasks as required include, but not limited to, Circuit provider assessments, WAN systems troubleshooting, infrastructure design, and virtualization support.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain and control datacenter networks and related computing environments
- Maintain OS software, patches and Updates. (Cisco, Juniper etc)
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network, hardware, and other network and system problems.
- Layout the design and implementation of new solutions and improve the resilience of the modern surroundings.
- Perform disaster recovery operations and record backups when required.
- Monitor connectivity and overall network performance to decide if changes want to be made.
- Manage Routing, IP,QOS, VLAN, SDWAN, VPN, and mobile connectivity solutions
- Carry out the configuration of routing and switching equipment.
- Maintain the Runbook for Network Infrastructure
- Perform scheduled Maintenance
- Participate in Change Control
- Work with Vendor support fore escalations
- Maintain Wireless Infrastructure
Core Skills
Network Infrastructure:
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent experience
- Strong Firewall knowledge, Certification a plus
