The Boeing Company is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Network Designer (Mid-Level or Senior) to join the team in El Segundo, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; or Seal Beach, CA.
The Network Designer will act as a working lead who will be planning and assessing program requirements while integrating activities of other employees to accomplish program objectives. You will be responsible for multiple programs in Seal Beach and Huntington Beach, CA.
Position Responsibilities:
- Act as a working lead planning and assessing program requirements while integrating activities of other employees to accomplish program objectives
- Manage the scope of work for program activities and interaction with connected sites and other programs
- Project management for multiple activities and prioritization as necessary
- Identify resources needed for successful accomplishment
- Network Design, equipment procurement, equipment configuration and installation, cable and wire design and implementation, network break-fix, security plan integration, equipment decommission and surplus, capital/expense planning to ensure that the programs have a secure communications network to perform program development and execution In support of program customer
- Include, but not limited to, hardware and software support to Secure Network, Secure Voice and other non-standard system integration
- Include support to security activities such as United States (US) government Risk Management Framework (RMF) Compliance, Security Evaluation Checklists, device sanitization, contamination cleanup, and support to the management of System Security Plans
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders and peers
- Exercise critical thinking and innovative problem solving
- Act as the initial point of escalation for issues or challenges encountered by the team
- Capable of effectively triaging and de-escalating issues with impacted parties
- Develop and execute project and process plans to implement policies and procedures
- Demonstrate the Boeing Behaviors in a deliberate and observable way
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Successfully completed Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or requires candidate to have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years
- 3+ years of experience with Cisco routers and switches & IOS implementations
- 3+ years of experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN)
- 3+ years of experience utilizing Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) network protocols
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Top Secret security clearance with CI Polygraph
- Experience with Palo Alto next generation firewall systems, network monitoring systems, and AAA/RADIUS/TACACS+
- Experience with Encryptors
- Experience with DNS/DHCP/IPAM
- Experience with team leadership
- Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 certification (Security+ preferred)
- CCNA, CCNP or other Cisco Certification
