WHO WE ARE

At GoFibre we’re on an exciting journey to revolutionise broadband capabilities for homes and businesses in rural towns and villages across Scotland and the north of England, connecting communities and affording them digital capability equal to their city counterparts; whilst being as environmentally conscious as possible, and creating social value in the areas we serve.

Our story is only just beginning. We’re growing fast and we don’t intend to slow down anytime soon as we play our part in ensuring future-proof full fibre coverage. We continue to raise investment for our infrastructure, service and people through our top-notch partnerships, and we’re confident and enthusiastic about what is coming next for the GoFibre family, as we strive to connect hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses. We have fantastic offices to allow colleagues to connect and catch up, one in central Edinburgh (with stunning 360 views of the city) and another in the coastal town of Berwick Upon Tweed; both a short walk from transport links.

Collaboration, innovation, commitment, continual improvement of our business and ourselves, are the cornerstones of what creates our collective success. No two days are the same; the landscape is constantly changing, and we think on our feet, move fast and tackle challenges and opportunities head on. We’re always learning and we thrive under pressure, because we support one another and have some laughs along the way. We’re all in this together, as we navigate the road less travelled, pushing the boundaries of what we can deliver and the professionals we can become. THE TEAM

You’ll join a hands‑on team at the heart of GoFibre’s ongoing growth and the scaling of our modern fibre network. As we continue expanding our footprint across Scotland, this team plays a crucial role in delivering high‑quality physical builds in data centres, exchange sites and street cabinets.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Install, commission and quality‑check racks, cabinets and network hardware across data centres, exchange sites and street cabinets, supporting GoFibre’s ongoing network rollout in the Aberdeen area
  • Work closely with our Network Architect and Network Engineering team during hardware turn‑ups and validation, gaining hands‑on experience and exposure to real‑world network build design
  • Deliver high‑standard cable management, labelling and as‑built documentation, ensuring every installation meets GoFibre’s safety, build and growth‑ready standards
  • Work independently on site. From surveys to installation, issue resolution, taking ownership of your tasks and applying practical solutions when unexpected challenges arise
  • Support the continual expansion of our XGSPON‑based network, contributing directly to GoFibre’s wider growth and the scaling of our modern fibre infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot physical‑layer issues and assist with network‑impacting faults, ensuring minimal disruption and high availability
  • Follow all health and safety procedures rigorously while helping to refine installation methods, workflows and best practice for future builds

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Strong technical skills in racking, stacking, cabling and commissioning equipment such as Juniper, Nokia and Eaton
  • Exceptional attention to detail, especially when it comes to cable management, installation quality and documentation
  • Confidence working independently on site, taking ownership of installations and resolving physical‑layer issues
  • Calm, practical problem‑solving, able to adapt to unexpected site constraints or design changes without compromising safety
  • Clear, professional communication with project teams, NOC, planners and site contacts, adjusting your style for non‑technical audiences

We love that everybody is different, and we believe a diverse workforce will be our strength. We ensure equal opportunity, champion inclusion and we actively encourage applications from suitably qualified candidates regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion or orientation. Together, we’re all part of the rich GoFibre family and we’re unified by our goals, inspiring our teams to challenge the norm and deliver best-in-class service to our customers, all whilst encouraging and appreciating one another.

What We Do

GoFibre is a Scottish independent broadband builder and provider, bringing ultra-fast, affordable and reliable broadband to homes and businesses across Scotland and the north of England.

GoFibre is the trading name for GoFibre Holdings Ltd. Founded in 2017 in the Scottish Borders town of Duns. The company secured an investment of £164 million in early 2022 from Gresham House’s Sustainable Infrastructure strategy (BSIF), to accelerate its rollout of full fibre broadband throughout Scotland and the north of England.

In autumn 2022 GoFibre was awarded two multi-million-pound contracts under the UK Government’s Project Gigabit for Durham-Teesdale and North Northumberland. Project Gigabit is the UK Government’s programme enabling hard-to-reach communities to access gigabit-capable broadband.

GoFibre now has more 120,000 homes and businesses ready-for-service across more than 30 local areas. For more information, please see gofibre.co.uk/locations

The company is headquartered in Edinburgh, with engineering depots in Berwick-Upon-Tweed and West Auckland.

In July 2023, GoFibre launched the GoFurther Fund with the goal of supporting charities, community groups and other organisations within key build communities.

In 2024, GoFibre earned recognition as a highly commended Borders Business in the Scottish Borders Business Excellence Awards 2024.

With GoFibre, residential customers can access speeds of between 150Mbps and 1Gbps, with pricing starting from only £29 per month. Individuals and businesses can check availability and register their interest in full fibre broadband by visiting gofibre.co.uk/check
