Note:  Although HFOT offers a flexible work schedule, this position requires work in the Taunton, MA office location two or more days per week.
The Network Administrator, reporting to the Sr. Manager of IT, is responsible for installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to industry standards and organizational requirements and pursues self-development to enable continuous improvement within the infrastructure. Responsible for protecting company networks and data. In addition to managing all ongoing security measures, they will also be responsible for responding to security breaches and protecting company hardware, such as servers, switches, firewalls, and employee computers. Assists IT or HFOT project teams with technical issues during planning and execution phases. These activities include definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy, as well as research & development within the IT project life-cycle, technical analysis and design, and support of operations during development, testing and rolling-out the solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install new software, perform application upgrades and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Provide management support in the management of server OS, virtualization, backups, antivirus and end user computing environments.
  • Support all cloud services and Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, DFS, ADSI, and Exchange Server Manage.  Configure network infrastructure devices including but not limited to routers, firewalls, switches, servers, load-balancers, intrusion detection systems, domain name systems, and storage area networks.
  • Maintain the integrity and security of all servers and systems to include network infrastructure, firewall, NAS drives, backups.
  • Assist in the development of functional and technical documentation on systems and networks to include policies, procedures, operating instructions, all in compliance with NIST framework. Ensure all changes to systems are captured by systems change management process.
  • Conduct systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies.
  • Assist in the development of and provide training for applications and systems as required to all HFOT staff and other IT Team members.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated, approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage HFOT’s resources.
  • Using the tools necessary, monitor the systems daily and respond immediately to security concerns and all threats.
  • Apply OS & firmware patches and upgrades on a timely basis to all servers, systems, and user hardware.
  • Interact with third-party technology vendors and internal subject matter staff to research bids, select vendors, define terms and time frames; monitor relationship and performance of third-party vendors.
  • Support all end users and conduct desktop installation, maintenance and repair.
  • Oversee asset inventory and provide reports as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Independently respond to IT tickets and issues.
  • Conduct regular system audits and regular checks on network and data security.
  • Perform security analyses of all departments to identify and correct flaws in business security systems.
  • Analyze each security measure employed by the organization to determine how effective they are and make recommendations.
  • Conduct employee security training workshops and create documentation that can assist response efforts during an active data breach.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in computer science or related field, or 5 years relevant work experience required.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with switches, routers, firewalls, LAN & WAN, network diagnostics & monitoring techniques.
  • Cybersecurity and Microsoft Office 365 certifications preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft and other operating systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiencies in being able to apply advanced troubleshooting techniques and methodologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of IT environments, technologies, system infrastructure and platforms is required.
  • Must be adept and passionate about learning new technologies and services.
  • Must be passionate about customer service and communicate clearly with skilled and unskilled users.
  • Logical and structured approach to troubleshooting and decision making with an emphasis on superior customer service is required.
  • Familiarity with service desk applications and incident management environments is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are required
  • Flexible, discreet, able to maintain confidential information, and knowledge of correct protocol for specific situations.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
  • Strong work ethic and team player.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • Work is generally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift objects weighing at least 50lbs., sit for long periods, and may use repetitive wrist and hand motions involved in sorting and handling documents. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. Employees will constantly have close visual contact with a computer.
  • Occasional travel required, including weekends and evenings. 

Salary Band

  • $80,750 to $109,250
