NATIONAL ACCOUNT SALES REPRESENTATIVE
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Responsibilities and requirements include but are not limited to:
This position requires the ability to sell, develop, and manage national account relationships for multi-location customers who require centralized fire and life safety service agreements. This includes alarm, sprinkler, extinguisher, clean agent suppression systems, alarm panel monitoring and backflow devices across every location within an account's portfolio. Responsibilities include prospecting and closing new national account business, negotiating multi-site and master inspection agreements, and serving as the primary point of contact between the customer and Allied Fire Protection's branch and service network to ensure consistent scheduling, deficiency resolution, and customer satisfaction at every site.
Knowledge:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); bachelor's degree preferred
- Sales experience is required, ideally in national or strategic account management
- Knowledge with NFPA 13, NFPA 25, NFPA 72 and NFPA 10 fire protection codes and other applicable life safety standards
- Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook; familiarity with CRM, work order platforms, and customer billing/reporting portals
- Must be detail-oriented and able to manage complex, multi-location accounts.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of three years relevant sales or account management experience in a service-related capacity. Fire protection related role preferred.
- Industry exposure to alarm, sprinkler, extinguisher, clean agent suppression systems, monitoring and backflows across multiple facility types and geographic regions
- Proven ability and track record managing multi-site or national accounts, performing work in a timely manner, and meeting deadlines across multiple locations
- Experience with contract negotiation, RFP/bid responses, and multi-year national agreement renewals
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to generate sales of new national account inspection agreements and other services using identifying, prospecting, qualifying and other sales techniques
- Monitor market and report back on competition within assigned regions.
- Pursue potential national account clients through existing customer databases and industry relationships
- Prepare written proposals, quotes, and contracts for multi-site inspection and service agreements
- Follow up with customers and internal branches in a timely manner to ensure the sale and service delivery are captured
- Coordinate with regional service departments and branch teams to schedule inspections and resolve deficiencies across all customer locations nationally
- Assist the customer with emergency situations and escalations across any location
- Meet with clients regularly to develop, build, and maintain relationships, while identifying customer needs and promoting new opportunities or areas of coverage.
- Prepare periodic sales reporting for national accounts progress, forecast, sales volume, profitability, and proposed client expansion.
- Flexibility with extensive travel and schedule changes to support accounts across multiple regions and time zones
- Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
- Must be disciplined and self-motivated to work with limited supervision
- Excellent communicator and have great organizational skills with a positive attitude
- Passionate attitude while prospecting new national account opportunities.
- Attends service meeting as required
- Follow established Allied Fire Protection SOP’s
- Other duties as assigned

- Must possess stamina to perform mental labor for extended periods of time, safely visit job sites and customer locations nationally during and after hours, including extended travel.
- Perform site walk-throughs and pre-inspections that require extensive walking on uneven surfaces in varying ambient temperatures across multiple locations.
- Requires constant mental alertness, corrected vision, hearing to a normal range.
- Requires the ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to travel extensively by air and ground to support customer locations across multiple regions
- Must be able to work independently.
Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least three years of relevant sales or account management experience in a service-related capacity
- Experience managing national, strategic, multi-site, or multi-location accounts
- Knowledge of NFPA 10, NFPA 13, NFPA 25, NFPA 72, and applicable life safety standards
- Industry exposure to alarm, sprinkler, extinguisher, clean agent suppression, monitoring, and backflow systems
- Experience with contract negotiation, RFP responses, bid responses, and multi-year agreement renewals
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with CRM, work order, billing, and reporting platforms
- Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
- Ability to travel extensively by air and ground across multiple regions
