Position Title: Director of Music/Accompanist (DMA)
Location: Chapel, Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, Florida
Provide musical direction and piano/keyboard accompaniment for Catholic and Protestant worship services, including preludes, hymns, choral pieces, offertories, postludes, and other music as required.
Collaborate with chaplains/CRMPs to select choral works, hymns, and other worship music.
Lead and direct other musicians and vocalists in rehearsals and services.
Ensure all music performed is appropriate to the religious tradition being observed.
Submit timely inputs for worship bulletins/programs and requests for music equipment, supplies, and scores.
Report needed repairs or improvements to chapel-owned pianos, keyboards, and equipment.
Proficiency as a pianist/accompanist with experience supporting diverse worship traditions.
Ability to sight-read and direct four-part musical scores for choirs and ensembles.
Demonstrated experience leading music programs in a religious, military, or similar institutional setting.
Knowledge of Navy organizational culture and pluralistic ministry requirements (or ability to demonstrate within three months).
