What is the position?
Cognosante is seeking a MUMPS Developer with demonstrable experience in working with cross-functional teams (i.e., technical subject matter experts, architects, business and product owners, scrum masters, testers or technical leadership). The MUMPS Developer serves as a key leader of the software development team. Responsibilities include analyzing features, extracting use cases, and writing code to address specified requirements within user stories; guide technical discussions in daily scrum meetings, sprint backlog refinement, demonstrations, and sprint planning, testing code, and consistently drives “clean code” practices.
What will I get to do?

Provide technical expertise to the team in the areas of MUMPS development, engineering, integration, and deployment

Bring new and innovative approaches, patterns, tools and other ideas for implementing MUMPS-based VistA enhancements and integrations.

Work with a team to design, develop, and test enhancements and bug fixes to a legacy application.

Actively participate with an Agile development team.

Engage with the team to refine and estimate stories in the backlog

Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture

Write clean, scalable code using MUMPS programming language
What qualifications do I need?
-
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

5 years of experience in the software development and high-volume enterprise systems.

MUMPS expertise, but ideally experience in a variety of software programming languages
-
Experience in a variety of business systems and applications.

Experience in designing, testing, debugging and documenting software.
What additional characteristics will help me thrive?

Experience in creating and deploying VistA application updates

Experience with Standard SQL development

Experience working with the Federal Government
-
Veteran's Administration (VA) experience strongly preferred

Compensation
$113,927.72 - $187,981.83
The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees. It is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee.
