George School, an all-gender Quaker boarding/day grades 9-12 college preparatory school located in Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, seeks a Multimedia Specialist to join a dynamic team in boldly, broadly and creatively telling the George School story. 


Responsibilities

  • Visual content creation: Produce visual content for digital and print that tells the George School story in a vibrant, illustrative and creative manner. Collaborate with team and campus partners to brainstorm, strategize and execute plans for graphics, imagery and video that aligns with and enhances brand messaging and supports departmental and institutional goals.
  • Visual content management: Coordinate with campus partners and outside vendors to manage projects involving the creation of visually engaging, brand-consistent messaging across web, print and social platforms. Maintain system of digital asset management for department; serve as primary point of contact for curation, review, and sharing visual content with campus partners and broader community; uphold and support publishing guidelines for visual content.
  • Social media support: Collaborate closely with Social Media Manager in the planning and execution of social media strategy that enhances George School’s presence across all platforms. Analyze trends, brainstorm and execute ideas and track and analyze metrics to assess effectiveness.
  • Student mentorship: Partnering with the Social Media Manager, guide established student content team in creation of digital media, utilizing authentic student voices to enhance and enrich the school’s social media presence. 
  • Writing: Draft stories for web and print; proof, edit and critique work of the department as needed.
  • Departmental collaboration: Maintain and contribute positively to team culture; nourish strong inter- and intra-departmental relationships through timely and thoughtful communication, positive disposition and commitment to shared goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, graphic design or related field.
  • Two to five years of experience in graphic design, photography and/or videography, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, including strong attention-to-detail and the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Intuitive and professional understanding of and facility with social media platforms.
  • Strong design and creative skills, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premier Pro and Illustrator).
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, content management systems, SEO principles, and Google Analytics preferred.
  • Commitment to working towards antiracism and developing and practicing cultural competency.
  • Commitment to the philosophy of a Quaker educational community and a style consistent with Quaker values.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Skills Required
