WICS\WICD\WCCU has an exciting opportunity for a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ). WICS\WICD\WCCU is looking for a Multimedia Journalist for our Fox Illinois newscasts based in Champaign Illinois. Your responsibilities as an MMJ will include reporting, shooting and editing news stories, enterprising story ideas, develop contacts, as well as other responsibilities as assigned. You will be expected to produce daily content on a variety of platforms in addition to television.
Skills and Experience:
- A self-starter and who can generate his or her own story ideas on a daily basis
- 2 Years experience as a Meteorologist
- Ability to demonstrate enterprise reporting and creativity in storytelling
- Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to maintain an active social media presence to build your brand and solicit original story ideas
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Live shot experience is preferred
- Previous experience working in a team environment is a must
- A Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field
- Clear Driving Record
Skills Required
- Two years of experience as a meteorologist
- Ability to generate original story ideas independently
- Enterprise reporting and creative storytelling ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Active social media presence
