At BDUK the Training Services function supports the analysis, design and development, delivery and assurance of world class learning and development products in support of our full defence portfolio. Within Training Services the Training Design and Development Team includes our talented Instructional Designers, SME's, and Editors, Unreal Developers and our 2D and 3D Multimedia Developers.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Our Multimedia Developers are an integral part of our training design and development capability ensuring that the media we produce is of the highest quality. The role includes the design, development and production of media assets to support the courseware design process and that our trainees are supported through their learning journey.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Training Design and Development Manager our 3D Multimedia Development Generalists are responsible for:
- Designing, developing and evaluating engaging custom technical multimedia materials collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure highly technical and complex content is targeted to the needs of the audience.
- Developing high quality multimedia assets from a variety of source data including CAD & photos.
- Providing multimedia training services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements and company policies and processes embracing first time quality.
- Coaching others and providing guidance in the practice of multimedia design principles, methodologies and tasks.
- Discovering new opportunities and solutions for problems by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking to determine new multimedia strategies, methods, technologies and tools related to multimedia design, development and delivery for internal and external customers.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Precise hard surface modelling of mechanical and engineering equipment.
- Providing design options and producing complex graphics, animations and renders.
- Understanding of multimedia development pipelines, which includes experience creating complex hard-surface 3D models utilising a variety of source data such as 3D CAD and photos.
- 3DS Max and V-Ray.
- Substance Painter.
- Excellent communication and team skills while working in a fast paced environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience using Unreal Engine 5.
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiar with GIT and version control
- Jira or similar task management app
- Video editing
- Interactive Design
- Understanding of 3D Engineering CAD processes.
