Job Title: Multimedia Communications Specialist
Department: USA Hockey Arena, Plymouth MI
Reports To: Manager, Communications - USA Hockey Arena
Start Date: July 6, 2026
Basic Function: This position supports the organization’s communications, social and digital media, and live broadcast efforts. This position also serves as the Official Voice of the NTDP on streaming and external broadcasts, including all home NTDP games and select international and national events hosted at USA Hockey Arena.
Responsibilities also include creating engaging content for the NTDP’s U17 and U18 teams across social media, digital platforms, video, graphics, feature stories, and special projects. Additional duties include writing previews, managing statistical research and analysis, supporting media relations, and delivering timely content that enhances fan engagement and strengthens the USA Hockey brand along with arena business units in Plymouth.
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide live play-by-play commentary and analysis for NTDP hockey games across streaming broadcast platforms as well as podcasts, player and staff interview and social media videos.
Support communications and media relations efforts for teams including player and coach interview requests, press releases and additional digital content.
Support USA Hockey Arena events and business including the Summer Drive-In, CJ’s Brewing Company, and arena programming as required.
Assist in the creation and implementation of social media content calendar, including graphics, gifs and videos across all channels.
Manage video and photo compilations of NTDP players for all media use and special projects.
Input individual game and player statistics for NTDP teams after completion of games on USAHockeyNTDP.com
Track and maintain official NTDP records such as single-season and career NTDP records, NTDP alumni at specific NCAA programs and extrapolate interesting stories from the statistics.
Capture, cut and edit promotional videos and game highlights.
Other duties as assigned by department managers.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills for external media communications, internal team projects and on-air broadcasts.
Confident speaking voice with clear, pleasant and well-controlled tone and pronunciation.
1-2 years of broadcast experience and production knowledge required/preferred including understanding of FCC rules, broadcast technology/equipment and production. Hockey broadcast experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree preferred, communications, digital media, journalism or related degree.
Previous experience in sports/entertainment marketing or related broadcast field.
Strong knowledge of hockey required, in addition to understanding USA Hockey’s programs, rules, history, constituents and players, especially related to NTDP.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking platforms including Meta Business Suite, X/Twitter, Hootsuite, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube.
Graphic design and content creation (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
Knowledge of analytics and performance reporting (Google Analytics, social media insights, engagement and sponsor reporting tools).
Live streaming and broadcast technology experience (LiveBarn, Hudl, FloSports, OBS, vMix, streaming production software).
Must be creative, resourceful, self-motivated and highly organized.
Understand the importance of working in a collaborative team environment.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
