About Role:
Our Client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to support financial reporting, performance management, compliance and internal controls across a growing hospitality and lifestyle portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with senior finance leadership and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial discipline and effective business support.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Prepare cash flow statements and support cash flow planning.
- Submit timely and accurate VAT returns.
- Conduct financial analysis for new and ongoing business opportunities.
- Oversee and strengthen internal financial controls.
- Act as a key contact for external auditors during statutory audits.
- Monitor debtors, receivables and credit control procedures.
- Support and supervise finance/accounting staff in daily settlements and receivables.
- Ensure compliance with group policies, accounting standards and fiscal regulations.
- Propose and implement finance process improvements.
- Support, mentor and develop members of the finance team.
Requirements:
- ACCA qualification or equivalent is mandatory.
- Fluency in English.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar.
- Experience in hotels, restaurants, hospitality, leisure, multi-site or multi-entity operations is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial controls.
- Good understanding of VAT, audits and statutory compliance.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
- Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills.
- High level of accuracy, organization and initiative.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Open to candidates based in Malta or willing to relocate.
