Tech giants & unicorns, transformative projects, emerging technologies and limitless opportunities – these are a few words that describe an average day for us. Building cross-functional engineering teams that take ownership and crave more means we’re always on the lookout for talented people who bring passion and creativity to every project. Our culture embraces openness, acts with respect, shows grit & guts and combines employment with enjoyment.

Job Description

Project – the aim you’ll have

You will be responsible for building a private cloud solution for a government institution in one of the Western European countries. Beyond the build itself, the project also covers migration and long-term maintenance of the solution you create. This is a multi-year engagement with a managed services provider we work with long term, and the scope of the contract keeps growing. We are focused on growing the business together by proactive approach.

We are looking for someone who, over the next few months, becomes the person both our team and the client come to with questions about this environment. The next step from there is a tech lead role: owning technical decisions, setting the direction of the solution, mentoring engineers, and taking part in discussions about the future.

Position – how you’ll contribute

  • Designing, developing, testing and deploying new backend applications
  • Testing and improving existing backend infrastructure applications
  • Meetings with architects, functional designers and other specialists on system and application design
  • Migrating workloads into the new environment and supporting the platform once it runs in production
  • Contributing to conversations about the next phases of the engagement: scope estimation, technical input into pre-sales documents, and improvement proposals the client actually wants

Qualifications

Expectations – the experience you need

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial experience with Python
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and the software delivery lifecycle (GitLab)
  • Testing frameworks (Robot Framework, Pytest)
  • Experience with containers
  • Experience with Linux system administration
  • Infrastructure knowledge (firewalls, reverse proxies, forward proxies, networking — IPv4, IPv6)
  • A consulting mindset: you ask what the business goal is before choosing a solution, you can tell the client "no" and back it with arguments, and you can work with an underdefined scope and close it yourself
  • Ability to build client relationships — keeping trust and engagement in day-to-day work, not only clean communication on status calls

Additional skills – the edge you have

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial experience with Python
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and the software delivery lifecycle (GitLab)
  • Testing frameworks (Robot Framework, Pytest)
  • Experience with containers
  • Experience with Linux system administration
