Project – the aim you’ll have
You will manage infrastructure and IT operations projects for enterprise clients in Western Europe, mainly managed service providers and financial institutions. Projects cover operations and patch management automation, observability, private cloud builds and VMware exit, on premises and in public cloud. Your team: architects and infrastructure engineers in Poland.
Position – how you’ll contribute
- Own delivery of assigned infrastructure and IT operations projects, including scope, schedule, budget and quality.
- Maintain the project plan, responsibility matrix, risk register and reporting to client and internal stakeholders.
- Control scope against the statement of work: identify change, prepare change requests, assess commercial and schedule impact.
- Steer the project team together with the solution architect and technical leads, and manage team capacity.
- Run steering committees and status reviews, escalate decisions and manage client expectations.
- Coordinate delivery with client change and release management, including maintenance windows and production teams.
- Manage acceptance: agree criteria, coordinate testing and secure formal sign off of delivered scope.
- Hand the delivered environment over to managed service operation, including operating model and service levels.
Expectations – the experience you need
- At least 5 years managing IT projects, including 3 years in infrastructure, IT operations or cloud projects.
- Delivery experience in at least two of these areas: operations automation, patch and vulnerability management, observability, virtualisation or private cloud, public cloud, migration programmes.
- Projects delivered both on premises and in public cloud, with an understanding of hybrid constraints.
- Fixed price delivery experience: scope control, change management and accountability for project margin.
- Enterprise clients: running steering committees and managing stakeholders at management level.
- Technical literacy to discuss architecture, automation and monitoring tooling with architects and engineers, without doing the engineering work yourself.
- Command of planning, estimation, risk management and reporting in a classic, agile or hybrid model, with Jira and Confluence.
- English at C1 level for running project meetings, negotiating scope and producing client documentation.
Additional skills – the edge you have
- Security projects: infrastructure hardening, vulnerability management, security monitoring, or controls from ISO 27001, NIS2 or DORA.
- Identity and access management projects: directory services, single sign on and federation, privileged access management, access reviews.
- Transitioning environments into managed service operation: service design, service levels and operational processes.
