Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Mid-Level or Senior Materials & Processes Engineer with expertise in Metals to join our team. This position is part of the BCA Supply Chain Engineering organization and located in Everett, Washington. This role will involve taking proactive steps for improving production health, responding to emergent technical issues associated with Boeing suppliers, and supporting the technical integration of metal forging and casting qualifications for aircraft parts at suppliers across the world.
Position Responsibilities:
- Interface with cross-functional engineering and business teams to develop supplier implementation plans
- Perform technical capability evaluations of metallic raw material casting and forging suppliers
- Coordinate with Boeing Global Engineering teams to support regional supplier activities
- Leads others and work statement, assist defining strategies and/or provides consultation for metallic raw material casting and forging suppliers
- Provide education and guidance to non-technical stakeholders on metals technologies
- Define requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and maintenance of products and approve their use
- Evaluate emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
- Lead development of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
- Integrate new technologies as appropriate
- Project manage and coordinate test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
- Conduct complex analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes
- Implement corrective and preventive actions
- Promote standardization across business activities
- Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements. Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 3+ years of experience with metallic materials and metallic processes
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Experience:
- 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Aerospace castings, forgings, or wrought products
- Experience with metallic machining
- Aerospace industry experience
- Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
Travel Requirements:
- 10% domestic and international

- Summary pay range for Mid-Level (level 3): $119,850 - $162,150
- Summary pay range for Senior (level 4): $146,200 - $197,800
