The role
Motion is how SkyPilot tells its product story. As our first Motion Designer, you'll define what that looks like — the timing, the feel, the visual language — across product films, launches, campaigns, events and social, from kinetic type to demos of the product itself.
We look for someone who loves the fun challenge of capturing the attention of a technical audience. The people who run the world's most ambitious AI infrastructure don't want to be marketed to. The work has to earn their attention on craft and content.
You'll own motion end to end and set the standard for how our brand moves.
- Define SkyPilot's product motion language. The principles, the reusable assets, and the pipeline that makes it easy to produce against.
- Own motion across product, social, and events. While the focus is on product motion, you will have the opportunity to build content for other areas.
- Bring our launches and events to life. Launch films, conference loops, keynote and demo support, and the short-form cuts that come off each one.
- Partner with engineering, product, and marketing to build memorable visuals that communicate complex ideas clearly.
What we're looking for
- 4+ years of experience producing technical product motion videos; ideally at startups between Seed and Series C stage targeting developer audiences. Years matter less than what you can show us — if you've been doing this for two years and the work is exceptional, apply.
- Experience producing motion videos targeting X, LinkedIn, websites, Instagram, etc.
- A portfolio that sets a high bar for motion, visual design, and craft.
- You own motion assets end-to-end: from concept through storyboard, design and production.
- Taste, and the ability to explain it. You can tell engineers and marketers when a piece is working when it is not.
- Strong attention to details (almost to a paranoid degree) in the motion you produce.
- Comfort with ownership and ambiguity, focus on craft, and the ambition to build a motion brand from scratch inside a fast-moving team.

Skills Required
- 4+ years of experience producing technical product motion videos
- Experience producing motion videos for X, LinkedIn, websites, and Instagram
- Portfolio demonstrating high-quality motion, visual design, and craft
