We’re currently looking for an outgoing, dependable, and service-focused Mortgage Processor to join our Real Estate team. In this full-time role, you will identify the member's financial needs and recommend an appropriate Credit Union solution, and assist members with their mortgage loan applications as well as process and make loan disbursements. You will comply with and have a good working knowledge of all credit union policies and procedures, such as: Bank Secrecy Act, The Patriot Act, The Privacy Act, Regulations B, CC, D, E, SAFE Act, Truth-in-Lending Act, Truth-in-Savings Act, CFPB, etc., all while being part of our mission: “Making a Positive Difference in our Neighbors’ Lives”. Typical working hours: 7:30/8:00 - 4:00/4:30 M-F; late Fridays until 5:00 roughly once per month

Work Location: Nashville, Tennessee (this is not a remote position)

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • 60% – Prepare and supply initial disclosures for submitted applications to members along with a list of required verification documents. Process and order all 3rd party documentation from providers such as flood certificates, surveys if needed, appraisals, etc. Provide status updates to Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO). Prepare mortgage files to be submitted to proper lending authority for approval. Prepare closing disclosures and closing documents once approved. Coordinate with members to schedule closing date/time with member and closing attorney/title company.
  • 20% – Servicing aspects include and not limited to: mortgage loan payoffs, assisting members/employees with questions, assisting in auditing mortgage loan files along with filing/scanning loan folders/documents, filing loan documents with appropriate agencies, tracking receipt of perfected lien documents and/or final title opinions from title companies and register of deeds, and assisting with other tasks as assigned by the Real Estate Manager.
  • 15% – Serve as backup mortgage loan originator; field MLO calls, emails and walk-ins for mortgage loans; discuss terms and originate mortgage loans when MLO is out of the office or unavailable.
  • 5% – Cross-sell credit union products and services at every available opportunity. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Desired:

  • NMLS preferred
  • 2 years mortgage experience preferred
  • Detail oriented, organized, aware of deadlines, self-sufficient, initiative, independent, thorough, excellent communication (heavy phone/email communication with members)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Able to pass a background check and a drug screen
  • Candidate must successfully pass an employment credit check. Any current delinquencies or bankruptcies still showing on the credit report may result in failure of the check. The review may include, but is not limited to, past due items, late payments, unpaid charge-offs, collections (non-medical), judgments, bankruptcies, repossessions, and foreclosures.
