In this role you'll
- Lead mortgage processing and underwriting operations, ensuring loans are reviewed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with credit and documentation requirements.
- Guide teams in resolving complex and escalated loan application, underwriting, and operational issues while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Review and approve complex loan scenarios and underwriting decisions within delegated authority and appropriately escalate high-risk or non-standard requests.
- Ensure consistent interpretation and application of investor, agency, regulatory, and internal lending guidelines.
- Oversee loan data integrity, documentation quality, and operational processes to maintain compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Manage daily workflow distribution and pipeline performance across processing and underwriting teams to meet service level expectations.
- Analyze operational metrics, production trends, and reporting to identify risks and implement process improvements.
- Partner closely with loan production, closing, secondary marketing, quality control, and other key stakeholders to resolve loan challenges and improve loan flow.
- Promote adherence to policies, procedures, regulations, and internal controls while supporting audit readiness and quality assurance efforts.Lead, coach, and develop mortgage operations team members, supporting performance management, workforce planning, and employee growth.
What we're looking for
- You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science, or a related field (Required). An equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
- You have 6+ years of experience in mortgage operations, operational leadership, process oversight, and team management (Required).
- You have 4+ years of supervisory or management experience leading a team, process, or project (Required).
