As a Modeling Engineer with our Global Digital and Corporate Color organization you will apply engineering principles to build digital twin solutions of chemical processes. Your role will collaborate with different teams and engaging with customers to gather insights and translate them into meaningful solutions. As part of this position, you will have opportunities to expand your knowledge into different departments and contribute to digital S&T product and process developments. The goal is to improve innovation, speed up product and process development, ensure process scale up, and support customers for applications of PPG products.

Key Responsibilities
Field Services and Customer Interaction: Travel to customer sites and plants to capture valuable insights and needs of PPG customers. Engage with customers to identify pain points and translate those insights into model inputs for product and process improvements.
Simulation and Modeling: Apply your experience in chemical process simulation to model and analyze processes. Use physics-based and data-driven approaches to analyze complex data from several sources and identify trends, patterns, and areas for optimization.
Collaboration and Knowledge Expansion: Learn from other departments and help expand your expertise to develop technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
Communication and Reporting: Document and present findings and proposals to team members and customers.
Qualifications
At least a MS degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, polymer materials engineering, or related technical disciplines, with chemical process simulation experiences.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience using Computational Fluid Dynamics packages i.e. ANSYS Fluent, Siemens Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, COMSOL; Experienced in pre-processing, meshing, solving, and coding ability for user-defined subroutines.
Experience with hybrid modeling (e.g. AI/ML) is appreciated.
Knowledge of process simulation for Chemicals using Aspen Plus and other tools in AspenTech's Product Portfolio.
Up to 20% domestic travel to customer sites, PPG locations and conferences.
Job Location: Up to 5-days per week in Springdale, PA
