We are seeking a highly motivated Modeling & Simulation Python Developer/Analyst to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in assessing the capabilities of the Missile Defense System (MDS). This critical role will involve working in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, contributing to Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities, MDS Ground Test (GT) events, and MDS Flight Test support. The focus will be on hands-on support for MDA's distributed software threat simulation, integrating current and future software capabilities into the OSF Framework.
As a Modeling & Simulation Python Developer/Analyst your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
- Develop, maintain, and execute Python scripts to support modeling and simulation activities within the HWIL environment.
- Integrate current and future software capabilities into the OSF Framework.
- Contribute to CDI activities, GT events, and Flight Test support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to simulation performance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and analysts to ensure the successful execution of simulation campaigns.
- Develop and implement data management plans for simulation data, including data storage, backup, and recovery procedures.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through data validation, cleansing, and transformation processes.
- Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata to document simulation data.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for efficient data access and analysis.
- Assist in the development of data visualization tools and reports to communicate simulation results effectively.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support their data analysis needs.
Job Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's (Master's preferred) in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
- 2 years system design experience
- Ability to obtain a secret level DoD clearance.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with cloud computing concepts.
- Understanding of MDA Ground Test CONOPS.
- Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-team environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Experience with data management, including storage and retrieval technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) and HWIL architecture.
- Experience with Linux and Python data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Demonstrated understanding of the Missile Defense System
