Mission/purpose
The role of Mobile Operator Radio Spectrum Expert involves efficiently managing and optimizing spectral resources to ensure the delivery of reliable and high-quality wireless telecommunications services. This professional is responsible for the allocation, planning, and optimization of radio spectrum to maximize spectral efficiency while meeting the operational needs of the company.
Key responsibility areas
- Spectrum Allocation: Identify and acquire the necessary radio spectrum licenses to meet the operational requirements of the company.
- Spectrum Planning: Design and implement radio spectrum plans to ensure efficient use of available spectral resources, considering technical, regulatory, and commercial constraints.
- Spectrum Optimization: Continuously monitor spectrum usage and adjust network parameters to optimize performance and minimize interference.
- Frequency Management: Ensure frequency coordination with other operators and regulatory bodies to avoid interference and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Analysis and Reporting: Conduct regular analysis of spectrum usage and provide reports and recommendations to improve spectral efficiency and service quality.
- Technology Watch: Stay up to date on technological and regulatory developments in the field of radio spectrum and radio access network and recommend adaptation and innovation strategies accordingly.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, network planning, regulatory, and commercial teams to ensure optimal use of radio spectrum while meeting the company's business objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all activities related to radio spectrum comply with local, national, and international regulations in force.
Your profile
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Previous experience in radio spectrum management, preferably in the mobile telecommunications sector.
- Knowledge of mobile telecommunications standards and technologies such as GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G.
- Professional certification in the field of telecommunications or radio spectrum management would be an asset.
- Excellent analytical skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent English, French and/or Dutch would be a plus.
Specific expertise
- Strong understanding of wireless communications theory and modulation principles.
- Proficiency in radio spectrum planning tools and simulation software.
- Good understanding of regulations and policies related to radio spectrum.
- Ability to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines.
