TEGNA is searching for a dynamic Mobile Application Developer to join our Digital Content Team. Tens of millions of Americans engage with TEGNA’s digital products every month and the Development group is responsible for all of it. Our team builds user-facing websites, mobile apps, OTT apps, and custom editorial tools and workflows. And while TEGNA is a large, publicly traded company, our development team runs nimble and lean – more like a startup. We are a fun group of professionals who enjoy getting things done and using new technologies.
We are looking for an Application Developer to join our development team. This developer will be responsible for supporting existing applications as well as developing new applications within Tegna. A successful candidate will like learning new technologies/tools and working in a team environment.
This is a HYBRID job. Candidate must have availability to come to the office 3 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Work with other developers, designers, and product/business managers to develop new features consistent with product roadmap while following all coding standards
- Build, deploy, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
- Attention to detail
- Learn and absorb new technologies quickly
- Be a strong team player and rapidly adapt to changing business and customer demands
Requirements:
- Proficient with .NET Core, C#, JSON, and Object-Oriented Design principles
- Experience working with Xamarin Native, .NET For Android/iOS considered a plus
- Experience with applications that consume data from RESTful APIs/SDKs
- Experience with programming and troubleshooting
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Experience developing Mobile applications, enterprise applications a plus
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
- Willingness to learn new technologies and frameworks as needed.
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude
- Having familiarity with the Google Play Store and Apple App Store considered a plus
