The teamThis is a team of builders and researchers. The same people who created CheXpert, CheXZero, and other widely used open datasets and algorithms in radiology AI have shipped FDA-cleared products into live clinical use. Day to day you would work with ML and software engineers and fellowship-trained radiologists across chest, body, MSK, neuro, and oncology who read alongside the model. a2z was co-founded by Pranav Rajpurkar, one of the most-cited researchers in medical AI.
DetailsLocation: Remote (international)
Compensation: a cash-weighted base set by the local market for the country where the work is done. We'll share the specific range for your location early in the process. No equity on international offers, and we say so up front rather than promising something we can't grant cleanly.
Eligibility: Open to candidates worldwide; this role is fully remote.

Skills Required
- Expertise with PyTorch including custom architectures and training loops
- Experience with distributed training at scale
- Strong understanding of ML fundamentals (why losses and architectures work)
- Ability to design, run, and own experiments end-to-end independently
- Track record of reproducible, rigorous research or engineering
- Experience training and evaluating large-scale models/datasets
- Medical imaging, 3D or volumetric data experience
- Experience with vision-language models or self-supervised learning
- Familiarity with DICOM, CT, or radiology workflows
- PhD or publications in relevant fields
- Experience with clinical model deployment or FDA submissions
