Torch Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mission Planning Systems Test Engineer to join our team with the 28 DOM at Eglin AFB, FL. Are you a former bomber pilot, Radar Navigator, or WSO with a passion for cutting-edge technology? Do you want to use your operational experience to shape the future of mission planning for the B-1 and B-52? If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you. This role is responsible for testing and evaluating the next generation of mission planning software for the USAF. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our warfighters have the tools they need to succeed in any environment.
As a Mission Planning System Test Engineer (B-1/B-52) your duties include but are not limited to:
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) and its life cycle upgrades.
Leverage your operational expertise to create realistic test scenarios that operationally test the mission planning environment.
Collaborate with a team of dedicated engineers and project managers to ensure the successful delivery of mission-critical software.
Draft and present a variety of technical documents, including test plans, operational assessments, and final reports.
Provide expert analysis and recommendations to senior leaders on the operational suitability of new mission planning software.
Travel to various locations (10-25%) to support testing and evaluation activities.
Required Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship
Master’s Degree in a technical field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant technical experience working on high-visibility or mission critical aspects is required. Twelve years of relevant technical experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree or eight years of relevant technical experience and a technical BS Degree.
A deep understanding of bomber operations and tactics gained through at least 1000 hours of flight time, in the B-1 or B-52, in the past five years.
Extensive knowledge of the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) and other mission planning software.
A proven ability to develop and execute test plans with current complex weapon systems in the inventory.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have and maintain an active Current security clearance (TS/SCI).
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous flight test experience.
Familiarity with ACC and 53rd Wing test policies and procedures.
