Summary

The Mission Enrollment & Training Specialist is a member of the Mission Engagement Team and is responsible for guiding volunteers and parents through the enrollment process and ensuring completion of all onboarding and training experiences required. This role facilitates training that prepares volunteers and parents to successfully engage in the organization's mission, with a strong emphasis on child safety, program readiness, and positive youth outcomes. The Mission Enrollment & Training Specialist serves as a key point of contact throughout the enrollment journey, providing support, communication, and resources that foster engagement, confidence, and preparedness among participants. Through effective training delivery and participant support, this role helps ensure consistent and high-quality experience for volunteers and families entering the program. 


Enrollment & Participant Onboarding 

  • Manage volunteer and parent enrollment by guiding prospective volunteers and parents through the enrollment process, ensuring all required documentation, forms, and information are completed accurately and in a timely manner.  
  • Serve as the primary enrollment contact by providing responsive communication and support to volunteers and families throughout the enrollment journey, addressing questions and helping navigate program requirements.  
  • Conduct enrollment interviews and orientations  
  • Facilitate enrollment conversations, orientation sessions, and other required onboarding activities to prepare participants for program involvement.  
  • Maintain enrollment records by entering, updating, and managing participant information within agency systems, ensuring enrollment data is complete, accurate, and current.  
  • Support enrollment goals and participant readiness  
  • Collaborate with internal teams to monitor enrollment progress, remove barriers to participation, and ensure volunteers and parents are fully prepared to move into the matching process. 

Training & Compliance 

  • Facilitate required pre-match training  
  • Deliver engaging onboarding and child safety training sessions for volunteers and parents to ensure understanding of program expectations, policies, and best practices.  
  • Coordinate ongoing learning opportunities by planning and facilitating continuing education and skill-building opportunities for volunteers, parents, and program staff that support positive youth development and match success.  
  • Track training completion by maintaining training records and monitoring participation to ensure required training milestones are completed and documented.  
  • Develop and enhance training resources  
  • Create, update, and distribute training materials, guides, and learning resources that support organizational goals and participant engagement.  
  • Partner with program staff to strengthen training effectiveness  
  • Collaborate with mission engagement and program teams to identify training needs, gather participant feedback, and implement improvements that enhance learning outcomes and participant preparedness. 
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Development, Education, Social Work, Communications, Training and Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Minimum of two years of experience in training, facilitation, volunteer engagement, program coordination, customer service, enrollment, or a related field.  
  • Experience presenting information to groups of varying sizes and backgrounds.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management (CRM) (i.e. Salesforce) or case management systems. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience working in a youth-serving, nonprofit, educational, or community-based organization. Experience facilitating in-person and virtual training sessions.  
  • Experience working with volunteers, parents, caregivers, or community stakeholders.  
  • Knowledge of positive youth development principles and child safety practices.  
  • Experience using learning management systems (LMS) or developing training materials.  
  • Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish or other languages reflective of the communities served.
