Position Summary:
The Millwright II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical systems within the sawmill and related operations. This mid-level role requires strong mechanical skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and operational efficiency. Millwright II plays a key role in minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and production machinery
- Diagnosing equipment malfunctions and perform timely, effective repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance according to schedules and operational needs
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Align, level, and calibrate machinery and equipment
- Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and installations
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
- 3+ years of experience as a millwright or industrial maintenance technician
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed
