We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Member Insurance and Investment Services (MIIS) Administrator. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support our Member Investment and Insurance Department while also engaging directly with members to provide education and sales of alternative investment products. Primary Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Provides administrative and analytical support to the SVP of HR/Admin and the MIIS department.
  • Coordinates the preparation and distribution of department correspondence, records, files, and other documentation. 
  • Evaluates departmental processes, policies, and procedures and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency and workflow. 
  • Conducts research and data analysis, investigates assigned issues, and prepares reports and recommendations for action. 
  • Maintains confidential records and information and ensures appropriate retention, protection, retrieval, and disposal of MIIS records. 
  • Maintains departmental policies, procedures, manuals, files, and required compliance documentation to support effective department operations. 
  • Ensures all member and client inquiries and complaints are addressed promptly, professionally, and courteously. 
  • Supports regulatory and audit requirements, including SEC and FINRA compliance, required reviews, reporting, and recordkeeping. 
  • Coordinates administrative tracking for Investment Representatives, including professional licenses, continuing education, commissions, incentives, and required filings. 
  • Assists with departmental budgeting, financial reporting, member complaint tracking, employee financial education events, and other MIIS administrative functions. 
  • Provides investment and insurance sales support and assists members with investment and asset management needs. 
  • Identifies member needs, assists with establishing investment goals and objectives, and coordinate client appointments and referrals. 
  • Provide administrative support to Investment Advisors as needed.
  • Assist the credit union’s Executive Administration Area as needed.

Secondary Responsibilities 

  • Once all required securities and insurance licenses are obtained and training completed, may be assigned to one or more EECU branches as an Investment Representative and to fill in for other Investment Reps when they are  unavailable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, and/or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Three to five years of executive-level administrative experience and at least one year of proven financial sales experience. 
  • Must have or be committed to passing the Securities Industry Essentials exam and obtain the Series 6 and Series 63 security licenses. Series 65 or 7 licenses may be required. May take the Series 66 exam that encompasses the S-63 and S-65 licenses.
  • CA State full life (including annuities) insurance license required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and member service skills. 
  • Ability to work independently, exercise self-discipline, and demonstrate strong initiative. 
  • Ability to maintain all required professional licenses and certifications. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. 
  • Ability to travel regularly to assigned EECU branch locations and occasionally attend required broker/dealer regional meetings. 
  • Valid California driver’s license 

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, or equivalent relevant work experience
