Reporting to the Manager, Product Engineering, the Middleware Engineer IV helps deliver core connectivity technology services for Availity’s applications teams. You will work within the API Gateway Space, and then broaden your role to support the larger body of services provided by the Middleware Team.

To be qualified for this position you:
- Have 7 - 10 years of progressive work experience with system administration and application implementation
- Must have experience working with Terraform, Ansible, and HTTP integration platforms
- Knowledge and experience working in an AWS environment, including VPCs, EC2, IAM, etc. and SSL Certificates
- Are an experienced software product administrator, preferably with Tyk or comparable API gateway software.
- Can integrate both in house developed software and externally purchased software for large applications
- Are comfortable working in a 24x7 production environment with rigorous change control
You will set yourself apart:
- Working with Product and Business Management teams
You will be:
- Engaged with technology service management, including software upgrades, performance monitoring and application development team collaboration
- Providing guidance and expertise for application service design, data and transaction workflows, system performance, scalability, reliability and performance attributes
- Writing detailed technical documentation for entire systems, including subsystems, and identifying integration points
- Writing detailed operational documentation for standardized actions used for maintenance and support
- Providing on-call rotation support for production operations
- Participating in thorough post-mortem investigations for incidents, changes, and degradations
- Applying learning into continuous improvement and knowledge sharing initiatives
- Performing installation, upgrades, and patching for 3rd party software products
- Conducting planning for platform lifecycle activities to maintain performant and compliant systems
- Configuring and maintaining infrastructure as code
- Developing and managing processes for deployment of changes via rigorous change control procedures
- Performing unit testing and complex debugging, and identifying opportunities for automated testing where appropriate
- Working with other project team members to resolve problems or issues, providing guidance as needed
- Ensuring appropriate testing is being completed by the project team
- Working on large, complex projects that require skill and experience in multiple technical environments and process knowledge of a specific business area
- Estimating work efforts for backlog management and planning, and recommend resource allocations and task assignments for backlog and chartering
- Driving analysis of technical feasibility and feedback on new product objectives
- Partnering with all stakeholders, internal and external, to identify potential slippage or inter-team dependencies, and work to resolve problems or issues
