Middle and Upper Level Spanish Long Term Substitute (2026 2027 school year)
Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP), a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for girls in grades 6 - 12 located in Towson, Maryland, seeks a full-time long-term substitute in our Language Department for the 2026 - 2027 school year. This position will involve teaching sections of Middle Level and/or Upper Level Spanish.
Grounded in Catholic teaching and inspired by the charism of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, we expect our employees to foster a culture in which students are encouraged to explore their passions, deepen their faith, and build lasting bonds of sisterhood.
Dates for the 3-month position are August 20th to November 6th (as well as attending new employee orientation August 17, 18 & 19, 2026).
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish classes to Middle and Upper Level (Grades 7 – 9).
- Work collaboratively with members of the Language Department on developing/improving curriculum.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
- Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned, such as advisory.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field required.
- Masters degree in Education, Language or related field preferred
- Maryland State Teacher Certification and demonstrated expertise in the teaching of foreign language preferred.
- A passion for teaching foreign language to middle and/or high school students.
- Ability to integrate technology effectively into instruction.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of the Language Department and the NDP community.
