Mid to Senior Full-Stack .NET AI focused engineer
Hybrid with one day a week in the Pittsburgh office. Travel opportunities as well.
Detailed Description:
We are building AI that engineers actually trust inside systems that manage real infrastructure used by public agencies nationwide. We are looking for someone to join the team and gets hands-on building the solution and shipping real features.
We are looking for a Full Stack Applied AI Engineer. The AI we are building lives in explainability. Each step along the way must make sense, and be defensible for civil engineering decision makers.
You will shape standards across the team as we grow and will directly influence the product direction.
Senior level individual contributor with product influence.
What this role is NOT:
Research into AI models or making research papers
Building models or extensive training exclusively
Data scientist role
When you start:
Within your first week, you will have a PR merged in. You will be contributing right away.
Once we are aligned on capabilities and gaps, we will establish a 30/60/90 day onboarding schedule with check-ins and clear goals to make sure you are calibrated and meaningfully contributing early and often, while learning to fill in knowledge gaps you will grow into.
By 90 days, the goal is that you are integrated as a regular member of the team. This will be fast-paced with strong emphasis on execution.
Requirements:
The technology stack would be very similar to what is in this video:

Modern C# and .NET
REST APIs
Blazor
Blazor WASM
Blazor Hybrid
General HTML/CSS/JavaScript
LLM and RAG technique experience
SQL Database familiarity (SQLite, Postgres)
Entity framework
Ability to work largely independently
Looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit. They will treat this job like it’s their own business and work beyond just requirements to understand the features to be built and improve upon them.
Contribute to long-term product and feature planning.
Ability to discuss and bring features from ideas to reality and implement them in a production environment.
For example, if we say we want to implement a feature where users of ChatGPT can share threads with each other, you’d ask questions like:
Can the person that thread is shared with see the uploaded files from the original creator?
What happens when the thread is updated? Can both parties see the updated content?
If someone shares a thread, can they revoke sharing it later?
Can you share as read-only, or should the person receiving the thread be able to continue it?
You’d put yourself in the mind of a user to understand what they would want and get as much clarification up front as you can and as you progress.
Ability to work with customers to understand their needs.
Ability to assist in onboarding other team members as we expand.
