Are you an experienced cleared Mid Level Software Engineer eager to apply your technical skills to mission-critical virtual simulation and experimentation? Join Boeing's Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) team located in Berkeley, MO and help build and extend the Virtual Interactive Simulation Environment (VISE) used in Operator-in-the-Loop (OITL) real-time experiments. This posting is tailored specifically for candidates who already hold U.S. government clearances. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization

Position responsibilities:
  • Develop, integrate, and maintain simulation software within the virtual simulation toolset to support OITL experiments
  • Model platforms, sensors/emitters, weapons, communications and tactical systems to meet customer needs
  • Collaborate with Boeing teams and cleared external partners to build and operate large federated simulations
  • Define requirements, author software designs and test plans, troubleshoot and validate experimental systems
  • Support contractual R&D and translate classified operational needs into executable simulation capabilities

Basic qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret U.S. security clearance (must be current)
  • Ability to obtain SAP clearances
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years' experience with Linux development environments
  • 3 years' experience with C++ development
  • 3 years' experience with Version control systems (Git or Subversion)
  • Experience with Agile SDLC

Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 3 years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience
  • Prior Operator-in-the-Loop or Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) experience
  • Python scripting and automation skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects and working across cleared teams
  • Strong collaborator with a focus on mission success

Summary Pay Range: $126,650 - $171,350
Potential signing bonus for eligible/qualified external candidates.
